- If UAE are “sick, weak, and unwell,” why didn’t more GC teams light it up today? Does that mean Alpe d’Huez will be fireworks, or will Pogi still shut it down? Vamos, quiero ver ataques locos en los Alpes!

- Bruno top-10 in the TT, Hagenes strong on 17, and now Matteo sniffing a win… fair play to Visma for turning the page after Jonas’ abandono. Still, Carapaz was head-and-shoulders on that final climb. Chapeau, but gutted Matteo couldn’t make that earlier split.

- Can someone explain what “marked this stage for him even before the Tour” means? Is that just saying the team planned for Jorgenson to target Stage 18 specifically?

- Not sure about the angle on “anger around the crash” — feels a bit speculative from the author. Visma looked composed since Stage 16, and the plan for Matteo on 18 was clearly set. Keep it about the racing, yeah?

- Huge ride from Jorgenson after a brutal week. Third behind Carapaz and winning the sprint vs Schmid says he’s still got big watts left. If he gets in the right move on Alpe d’Huez, podium from the break is absolutely on.

- Pidcock vs Carapaz chess match was class. Respecting Richie enough not to gift time shows he’s thinking like a GC rider now. Grande etapa, bien jugado, Tom!

- Not sure the article gives enough credit to Tudor’s pull. They did more than “pitch in”—they helped shut the gap before the GC squads lit it up. Small detail, but matters.

- Loved the switch from swashbuckling to steady GC mode. That Stage 16 TT was huge—best I’ve seen him ride against the clock. If he holds this to Paris, top-8 is a proper step towards a 2026 GC tilt.

- So wait, why wouldn’t the other teams just let him go in the break again? Is it because he’s still close on time for GC and they won’t risk it?

- Smart ride from Pidcock today. You could see Pinarello-Q5 really commit on that final climb—pacing was measured, kept Carapaz on a leash. Eighth on GC after that TT is fair reward.
