Bruno Armirail (Visma | Lease a Bike) didn't come out of Monday's race unscathed. The Frenchman crashed during the opening stages of the third stage of the Tour de France, taking Thymen Arensman (Netcompany INEOS) down with him, among others. Armirail reacted cynically on Instagram.

There were plenty of breakaway attempts early in the race, when suddenly Armirail went down. The French rider from Visma | Lease a Bike hit the asphalt on the right side of the peloton, taking about ten riders down with him—all of whom ultimately made it to the finish. Afterward, Arensman did show a photo of his battered knee.

It wasn't yet clear from the TV footage what had happened because other riders were in front of him, but Armirail is now sharing footage himself on Instagram. In the video, we see that another rider cuts him off, causing him to lose control of his front wheel.
"If you can't get past, but give another rider a hard shove to make room and pass," Armirail says with a telling thumbs-up on his social media. According to the medical bulletin, the Visma | Lease a Bike rider is suffering from pain in his left knee and abrasions.
