At the Tour of Flanders, the day concludes with a joint ceremony for the men’s and women’s races, where Pogačar and Vollering showed their trophies to the Flemish crowd. Just before that, the two met briefly backstage.

“My father is going to be happy,” Vollering said to Pogačar. “He’s your biggest fan.”

“Ah, I thought he was mainly happy that you won,” the Slovenian replied, before the pair stepped onto the podium with a smile.

“That too, for sure!” Vollering answered.
