The full 2027 Tour de France route will be revealed live on Thursday 22 October. Race organisers ASO will present the route at the Palais des Congrès in Paris, ending months of speculation as to what will face Tadej Pogačar and Jonas Vingegaard. The presentation begins at 11:00 CEST (10:00 in the UK) and will be streamed live on the official Tour de France website.
What do we already know about the 2027 Tour de France route?
The Grand Depart of the 2027 Tour de France route is already public. The men’s race starts in Edinburgh on Friday 2 July, the first Grand Départ in Scotland.
Stage 1 runs 184km from Edinburgh to Carlisle. Stage 2 covers 223km from Keswick to Liverpool, with five categorised climbs. Stage 3 is the hardest of the three. The peloton races 223km from Welshpool to Cardiff over eight Welsh climbs, with a finale over Caerphilly Mountain.
2027 Tour de France Femmes Grand Départ also in the UK
The
Tour de France Femmes also starts in Britain. It leaves Leeds on 30 July and ends its UK visit with the race's first-ever team time trial in London.
Here's everything we know about the Femmes route so far.
With the season she's had in 2026, Demi Vollering will undoubtedly be back to defend her Tour de France Femmes title. However no details are yet known about what follows after the week long stage race crosses the channel into France.

What are the rumours about the 2027 men's Tour de France route?
Once the race crosses to France, the picture is less clear. Cherbourg is tipped to host the start of stage 4.
In the mountains,
reports point to summit finishes on the Col du Granon and the Col de la Loze. Both climbs have history. Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates XRG)
cracked on the Granon in 2022 and on the Loze in 2023. If they feature on the race route in 2027, you can bet Pogačar will want to make a statement there.
Alpine ski resorts such as Courchevel, Tignes and La Plagne have also been linked with stage finishes.
Of course, none of this is confirmed. That will change on October 22, when the full 2027 Tour de France route and 2027 Tour de France Femmes route will be unveiled stage by stage.
