When the
Visma | Lease a Bike team woke up on Monday morning, they will have had to pinch themselves that Sunday 12 April 2026 was not a dream.
Wout van Aert finally
won Paris-Roubaix for the Dutch team. The raw emotion and relief that followed have been released in
a Race Day video by the team.
In 8 minutes and 22 seconds, we see how the race unfolded for Van Aert — from mechanical problems and chasing back on, to the climax on the Roubaix Vélodrome, where the he out muscled his last remaining rival, Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG).
Then we cut to how that moment was experienced inside the team — both on the bus and in the race car with Grischa Niermann and Arthur van Dongen. Spoiler (not a spoiler): it was pure joy.
From there, we see Van Aert receive heartfelt congratulations from everyone close to him — from his family and parents to everyone on the team. In his flash interview, he makes an emotional dedication to his former teammate Michael Goolaerts,
who died far too young.
The video closes with Van Aert's arrival on the team bus, where he thanks each of his teammates individually for their work.
