Caja Rural climber Jaume Guardeño seriously injured after training crash in Spain

Caja Rural confirmed the news on Thursday through its official channels. The team said that Guardeño crashed during training shortly after his recent appearance at the Volta a Catalunya and was involved in a collision with a vehicle, suffering serious injuries as a result.

According to the team statement, the rider from Alicante, who lives in Caldes de Montbui, was urgently transferred by helicopter to Taulí Hospital in Sabadell. There, he was admitted to the intensive care unit with severe injuries while awaiting further medical assessment.

“On behalf of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, we want to express our full support and strength to Jaume and his family during this difficult time, and we wish him a speedy and full recovery,” the team said.
