Anthon Charmig sparked celebrations for Uno-X Mobility on Monday by winning the second stage of the 2026 Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The Danish puncheur came through the early breakaway and crossed the line solo. Afterwards, Charmig praised, among other things, the excellent atmosphere within his team.

“It is an incredible feeling to win a WorldTour race,” Charmig beamed in the flash interview. “A rider like me does not get many chances. So when I get the opportunity, I have to go for it. It is a really great feeling, I am very happy to be here.”
It is another fine victory for Uno-X, which is establishing itself as a permanent presence in the WorldTour. Last month, the Scandinavian team also won a stage of the Giro d’Italia with Frederik Dversnes. “The whole team has taken a big step forward this year,” Charmig said of the strong results.

Charmig: 'The last climb suited me perfectly'

“The atmosphere within the team is simply fantastic as well,” Charmig continued. “We have so much fun together. I have just come off a four-week altitude camp with the team. I had a great time there. For motivation, it is the perfect environment, and that shows in the results,” he said, praising his squad.

On the final stingy climb, Charmig eventually had the strongest legs. According to him, patience was decisive. “You had to be patient, because it was a very long stage (234 km). So I saved my energy for the final phase.”
On the penultimate climb, Charmig briefly lost contact. “That climb suited my abilities less; it was a bit too long. But I stayed calm and did not panic when those guys rode away. Behind them, we were fortunately able to work well together, which meant we could come back. That final climb then suited me perfectly,” Charmig concluded with a broad smile.
