Cian Uijtdebroeks will make his comeback this Sunday. The Belgian rider from Visma | Lease a Bike last competed on April 20 in the Tour du Doubs, after which he took a break. On Instagram, Uijtdebroeks has now announced that he will ride the Belgian Championships in Binche on Sunday.
“The last couple of months have been a period of hard work towards upcoming goals with the focus on getting the engine properly running again,” said Uijtdebroeks. The Belgian started the year well with a fifth place in the Tour of Oman, but experienced problems with his leg in Tirreno-Adriatico.

Uijtdebroeks last competed in April

For a moment, Uijtdebroeks thought that the problem that had bothered him last year in the Vuelta was returning, but he later announced that it was related to his back. In April, Uijtdebroeks competed in three French one-day races.
“There is still a lot of work to be done in terms of my fitness, which is normal after being sidelined for a while,” Uijtdebroeks already realized at the time. “The most important thing is that my back is responding well. Let's keep working and analyzing to solve this problem completely.” So on Sunday, he will celebrate his return.
