GoFundMe campaign set up to support the family of Ezra Caudell, who suffered a life-threatening crash in Philadelphia

A crowdfunding campaign has been launched for Ezra Caudell, who suffered a serious crash at the Philadelphia Cycling Classic last weekend. The 19-year-old American from Modern Adventure Pro Cycling sustained life-threatening injuries in a crash during the U.S. race.

A crowdfunding campaign has been launched on GoFundMe to support Caudell's family. "Ezra Caudell and his family are going through an incredibly difficult time following the catastrophic accident Ezra suffered during the Philadelphia Classic cycling race."

"Ezra suffered severe trauma to his lungs and head and is currently in the intensive care unit at Jefferson Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, where he is receiving excellent care from the doctors and the medical team," the fund raising page states.

"The Caudell family had recently moved to Germany to support Ezra's career, but the state of Georgia has always been their home. Now that Ezra is in the intensive care unit and working on his recovery, his parents and sister had to fly in from Germany at the last minute to be with him. The distance from home adds extra stress to an already heartbreaking situation."

"Ezra's family is facing hotel costs, meals out, travel expenses, medical bills, and many unforeseen expenses as they focus on supporting Ezra during what is likely to be a long recovery," the caption reads.

"Friends of the family are asking the cycling community—along with friends, family, and anyone who feels called to help—to support the Caudell family during this difficult time. Cyclists understand how quickly accidents can happen and how difficult the recovery process can be."
