Pogacar made the wrong decision in Quebec, but is ready to strike back hard in Montreal

In the GP Québec, top favorite Tadej Pogacar attempted several times, but it also proved difficult for the very strong Slovenian to escape the peloton. In the end, Michael Matthews won the sprint, while Pogi had to settle for spot seven;

"It was a good race for us," the UAE Team Emirates' star striker said after the race. "The team did an excellent job. I wanted to create a tough final, and we succeeded. We made sure the final laps were difficult. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to successfully complete my offensive mission. At one point, the big group was fast approaching. Maybe I should have launched my attack earlier."

Pogacar is ready for GP Montréal and World Championship

Pogacar continued about the last kilometer(s): 2I wasn't quite sure if I should attack. Ultimately, I waited for a sprint, but that was the wrong decision. I got slightly cornered but am happy to return to the race. The feeling in my legs was great."

"I can't wait until Sunday," the star referred to the GP Montréal. "I'm going there confidently, especially because I didn't expect such good legs here in Quebec. I'm super happy with the form; it was also a lot of fun. Moreover, I think I'm also ready for the World Championship (on Sept. 29, ed.)."
