The jury report published after the race showed that Evenepoel, along with sports director Sven Vanthourenhout, was sanctioned for a sticky bottle. The Belgian rider was fined 200 Swiss francs, while his team director received a fine of 500 Swiss francs.

In addition, Pogačar was docked 25 UCI ranking points, though that too is unlikely to cause him much concern.
