Wout van Aert wrapped up his season at the World Championships in Canada late last month, but we’ll see him in public again in mid-October. This week, he’ll be a guest at the Joyride Festival in Ibiza, as one of the stars with whom guests can go for a bike ride. Read more below the photo!
Guests of the Joyride Festival can ride with Van Aert in Ibiza
Van Aert leads a peloton of stars at Joyride festival in Ibiza
In addition to the Belgian cyclist from Visma | Lease a Bike, Marcel Kittel, Johan Museeuw, and Marianne Vos have also
been recruited by the organization as star riders. Vos was crowned gravel world champion in Australia just last Saturday.
The Joyride Festival in Ibiza is organized by LeBlanq Tours, which is known for its luxury cycling events and festival experiences for cycling fans.
During the day, “participants” get to ride with the cycling stars, and the evenings wrap up with dinners and parties. Famous British club DJ Pete Tong will also be spinning there, but we think the legendary DJ will stick to spinning records, not wheels!
Ook Marianne Vos is op Ibiza.
Van Aert is expected to compete in cyclocross this winter
Van Aert will be riding with the other riders, but on Saturday he’ll also join Marcel Kittel for a post-race interview with Eurosport host Orla Chennaoui. Both riders have won the green jersey during their careers.
The Belgian cyclist also recently won the green jersey in the Vuelta and, after wrapping up his season at the World Championships in Canada, went on vacation to the U.S. West Coast.
He plans to race cyclocross this winter, but it’s not yet known when.
While Van Aert has confirmed he will race cyclocross this winter, Mathieu van der Poel has not yet decided whether to compete. He is struggling to balance a long road racing and mountain biking season with the birth of his first child in January.
Tom Pidcock appears likely to skip another cyclocross season.
