We saw Fem van Empel in action last week in Meulebeke on a red Specialized-TMRW, but not much was known about it at the time. That changed on Friday. The day before Van Empel’s second cyclocross race in Heerde, the team was introduced by team manager Stephen Delcourt. "What we are building today is a continuation of the project we developed
together with FDJ UNITED and SUEZ. Their involvement allows us to look further ahead and prepare for the next phases of our development," said the head of
FDJ-Suez.
This project, closely linked to the women’s WorldTour team, is based on a fundamental belief: experience gained across multiple disciplines enables young athletes to build a stronger foundation for their road cycling careers. The first step is to support female riders who combine road racing and cyclocross, so they can develop their technical skills and gain experience at the highest level.
FDJ Suez works closely with Specialized TMRW
To support this new phase, Tomorrow Group, owner of FDJ UNITED-SUEZ, is developing the TMRW brand with the ambition of shaping the future of cycling through a multidisciplinary approach.
This vision translates into broadening our sporting horizons, exploring new disciplines, strengthening our international presence, and supporting promising young talent. FDJ UNITED-SUEZ remains at the heart of this strategy, while retaining its own identity and ambitions at the highest level of road cycling.
"At Specialized, we share the belief that giving young athletes the opportunity to develop in various disciplines enables them to become more well-rounded road cyclists. Specialized TMRW makes this vision a reality: opening new perspectives for the next generation, exploring new athletic possibilities, and continuing our international growth,” explains Delcourt.

FDJ-Suez places 4 riders with Specialized-TMRW
In addition to Van Empel, who was signed in late summer, Kate Courtney (mountain biking), Anja Grossmann (cyclocross and mountain biking), Amanda Muller and Celia Gery (cyclocross) have been signed as multidisciplinary riders for the FDJ-Suez team for 2028. Of those five, Courtney is not registered for cyclocross with the UCI.
"Cyclocross has played an important role in the development of some of the greatest cycling talents. It is a demanding discipline in which riders can develop their technical skills, build confidence, and hone their competitive instincts," explains Delcourt.
"We want to offer our female riders, who share this passion, the best conditions to advance and perform, perfectly tailored to their ambitions on the road," said the Frenchman.
