- Is 1 out of 7 his usual scale? I’ve seen him hand out 3/7 for some dodgy places before. Seems like this one must be properly awful. Pero en serio, cockroaches en el Tour? Ça ne va pas du tout.

- Del Toro losing four GC spots hurts, but if Pogi eased the tempo to keep him in play, that’s smart long game for Paris. Equipo primero, luego gloria.

- Great insight from Tom. You could really see UAE wobbling on the Pertus—Yates, McNulty, Del Toro all a bit off. Yet Tadej still makes it look routine. Chapeau.

- Good read, but I’m confused: why would a rider losing time say his legs are better? Is that normal in cycling or just mind games? Also what’s the difference between one-day races and stage races for someone like him?

- So he threatened to resign last winter and they adjusted his schedule—does that mean he’ll race fewer altitude camps too? How much does that actually change his Tour prep?

- Really appreciate the context on Jonas’ winter talks with Visma. You can see the shift in his race program since skipping UAE and going hard in Catalunya. Even if he leaked time on Stage 10, he usually grows into the third week. Don’t count him out yet.

- Waerenskjold’s right about not fighting for Merlier’s wheel. But saying “hope he gets boxed in” feels a bit soft. Uno-X have the horsepower—hit the final km earlier and make it messy. Vamos, Søren!

- Not sure the piece gives Kooij enough credit. He smoked stage 5 and his top speed rivals Merlier’s when the run-in is chaos. If Visma nail the final corner, Olav can absolutely beat him.

- Quick one: how strict is the time cut on a medium mountain stage like 10? If Merlier only just made it, does that usually zap the legs for two days, or can sprinters bounce back by stage 11?

- Love Teunissen’s honesty: “he’s just the fastest.” Astana’s lead-out for Kanter has been tidy though—2nd, 4th, 9th in that field is no fluke. If Max gets clean air at 200m, podium again for sure.
