🎥 Even the UAE team car isn't safe from crashes! Collision with a rider leaves its mark

A striking sight in stage five of the Giro d'Italia. The UAE Team Emirates-XRG team car was suddenly seen driving with its rear window completely smashed — the result of a collision with Tudor Pro Cycling rider Mathys Rondel, according to Italian broadcaster RAI The Frenchman is reportedly unharmed.

With 98 kilometres to go, white jersey holder Jan Christen rode up alongside his team's cars — and viewers could clearly see that the rear window of the UAE vehicle was almost entirely gone.

RAI had already reported that a collision with a Tudor rider had occurred, which turned out to be Rondel. The young Frenchman is considered one of the outside contenders for a strong overall result at this Giro, and was thankfully able to continue his race.
