After Robert Gesink had to abandon the race due to a broken hand, misfortune has struck Visma | Lease a Bike again in the second stage of the Giro d'Italia. Olav Kooij was involved in what looked like a minor crash, along with Eddie Dunbar, but seemed to have hurt himself in the process. The Dutch rider struggled to get back up and was notably dealing with a bloody elbow, which was also attended to by the medical staff. Shortly after, Attila Valter from the Dutch team also fell, though without serious injury.
