Visma | Lease a Bike felt compelled on Saturday to issue a statement after the fourth stage of the Coppi and Bartali Cycling Week, following the behavior of some fans. Two of them climbed into a team car, and the team communicates. "During the fourth stage of the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali, an incident occurred involving two intoxicated supporters. One of them climbed onto the team car of Team Visma | Lease a Bike and attempted to remove a bike from the roof. The other supporter behaved very aggressively towards the occupants of the car," the formation said.
CEO Richard Plugge states. “We take this incident very seriously, as it put the safety of our colleagues at risk. Our staff on site immediately went to the police and also reported the incident to the race organization."
"In the end, no equipment was stolen and no damage was caused. The colleagues in the car are okay, but understandably shaken.” said the boss of the Dutch team.

Visma | Lease a Bike riders come through stage unscathed
The team’s riders all reached the finish safely. “We came through the stage unscathed and achieved our objective,” sports director Robert Wagner said after the stage won by Axel Laurance. “As a team, we rode a very solid race. We stayed out of trouble, and that was the most important thing. Our focus now shifts to tomorrow.”
The final day brings the queen stage of the Coppi e Bartali. “It will be an important day for the general classification. We are in a good position with Anton Schiffer and Elliot Rowe. We will do everything we can to achieve a strong result.”
