The 2026 UCI Track World Championships in Shanghai ended on Sunday with Great Britain top of the medal table, on 12 medals including six golds. Anna Morris was at the centre of that haul. Her madison win with teenager Erin Boothman on Saturday gave her a third world title of the week, and no woman had won that combination at the same Worlds before.

Morris had already won the team pursuit and the omnium earlier in the week. On Saturday she and Boothman finished the women's madison on 40 points, seven ahead of France, with Japan third on 18.
Cyclingnews also noted that this was not an experienced pairing on paper. Morris rode her first madison only a year ago, while Boothman is a former junior world champion in the discipline.
According to Cycling Weekly, Morris is the first woman to win all three Olympic endurance events (team pursuit, omnium and madison) at one Track Worlds since the women's madison was introduced in 2017.
The Welsh rider now has seven world titles. Boothman went home with two senior titles, having also been part of Thursday's winning team pursuit squad.
"My first Madison was only in September last year so I'm not sure who's taking the lead on experience, but it's really exciting to work with Erin and hopefully there's more to come as we keep working on the partnership."

Britain won a second title on Saturday. Millie Couzens beat teammate Josie Knight in the individual pursuit final with a time of 4:21.505. Pauline Grabosch of Germany won the women's time trial.
