Remco Evenepoel will return to competition on Monday after withdrawing from the Tour de France. The Belgian rider from Soudal Quick-Step will start in the Tour of Britain, where he hopes to achieve a good overall classification together with Ilan Van Wilder. For Evenepoel, it will also be his first race
after it was announced that he will be riding for Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe from January 1, 2025. That transfer was announced a few weeks ago, but the Belgian has not commented on it until now.
Now, he will resume competition in Great Britain. “We’ll see where Remco is at the moment, as he returns to racing, but for the general classification, we also have Ilan, who could do something there,”
said sports director Klaas Lodewyck.
"Ethan and Luke are two other riders who are motivated and who could be in the mix for some nice results. Our main focus for the week is to take a stage victory. Then, depending on how things go, we’ll see if we can also fight for the overall standings. It’s a very strong field at the start, but we are motivated to leave our mark on the race."
Casper Pedersen and Martin Svrcek complete the Soudal Quick-Step team.
