The bike on which
Tadej Pogacar rode up Mont Ventoux in the Tour de France last summer has fetched a very large sum through an auction. The Colnago Y1Rs, including rainbow accents, went to the highest bidder for 163,430 euros.
The Colnago was auctioned through
Sotheby's. The auction house's website shows that the expected proceeds were between 15,000 and 20,000 euros, but in the end it turned out to be ten times as much. It is not known who eventually bought the bike.
The coach has the distinctive world champion accents: red, green, yellow and blue. This created the Raw Carbon edition that was eventually auctioned off. The frame's visible carbon finish and minute details reflect combine effectiveness and aesthetics.
Pogacar first used the bike on the Ventoux, but later won the Tour of Lombardy and other races on it.
