The usually
well-informed cycling journalist Ciro Scognamiglio of La Gazzetta dello Sport has shared with the outside world on X the alleged 2026 ambitions of
Filippo Ganna. The Italian hard rider is said to be on it for both the classics, Giro d'Italia and Tour de France.
Ganna would begin his season at the Tour of the Algarve, which usually includes a time trial at his size on the course. Then the focus would shift toward Milan-Sanremo and Paris-Roubaix.
Last season he was close in Sanremo,
finishing second behind Mathieu van der Poel. In the E3 Saxo Classic (third) and Ronde van Vlaanderen (eighth), Ganna also competed for the marbles for a long time, while at the Roubaix Velodrome he came in 13th.
Ganna in both Giro and Tour?
In terms of grand tours, the Italian would aim for both the Giro and Tour in 2026. In 2025 Ganna crashed out on the first stage of the Tour de France, only to ride the Vuelta in the fall, where he did win the time trial in Valladolid.
