It had been in the air for a while, but on Friday, the transfer of Dylan van Baarle to Soudal Quick-Step was announced. After three years with Visma | Lease a Bike, the 33-year-old Dutchman has opted for a new adventure, which is a lifelong dream come true, according to his words in a press release. “Dylan van Baarle will reinforce Soudal Quick-Step’s squad next season, after the 33-year-old signed a contract until the end of 2027,” the Belgian team announced. This makes the Dutchman the fourth new signing for Soudal Quick-Step. The team had already transferred the talented Jonathan Vervenne from the development team, and then signed Edward Planckaert and Jasper Stuyven.
This brings an end to Van Baarle's three-year adventure with Visma | Lease a Bike, after he moved from INEOS Grenadiers in 2023. In those three years, the 33-year-old veteran won twice, both times in his debut year. In the spring of 2023, the Dutchman won the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, before going on to become Dutch road champion later that year.

"I used to watch Soudal Quick-Step on TV, especially during Boonen's days," said Van Baarle
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Soudal Quick-Step, a team that I was watching on the TV when I was young, especially during Tom Boonen’s days,” Van Baarle said proudly. “It’s a dream come true to become a member of the Wolfpack from next year. From the outside, it gives the impression of one, big family, and I’m glad I will be part of it.”
“My goal is to be back at my best level for the Classics, and hopefully, we will fight for victories there,” the Dutchman says of his goals. “I also want to help the GC guys as much as possible in the Grand Tours, and why not, go for a stage win there or in the week-long races if there will be an opportunity,” Van Baarle says, with an eye on his own success.
The transfer also pleases Jurgen Foré, CEO of Soudal Quick-Step. "We are glad that Dylan will be a member of the Wolfpack in 2026 and 2027. He is a very strong rider, as confirmed not just by his victories in the Classics or in the time trial, but also by his exceptionally solid rides in the Grand Tours. He will bring a lot of experience into the team, which we are convinced will make the difference in the key moments of a race and help us become stronger," said the Belgian.
