Jonas Vingegaard has won the Tour de France! The Danish Jumbo-Visma rider had no troubles on the Champs-Élysées and therefore managed to retain the prestigious yellow jersey. This is his second overall victory in the French Grand Tour, as he also claimed the win in 2022.
In the flash interview, Vingegaard expresses great pride in himself and his team. "Of course, I am proud, but I am also very happy. Winning the Tour de France for the second time is truly amazing. I want to thank all the Danish people. The crowd was fantastic as well. I want to thank all of Denmark for their support during La Grande Boucle. The people have supported me tremendously, and I am very grateful for that, as well as for my family and team, of course."
The Tour de France went by very quickly for the Danish general classification contender. "It went by so fast. We race every day, and some stages are even tougher than others. It was very challenging, and I enjoyed the great battle between Tadej (Pogacar, ed.) and myself. Naturally, I want to come back next year to see if I can add a third Tour to my palmares. At least, I want to give it a try. I am pretty sure that will be the plan for next year."

Vingegaard and Roglič to the Vuelta a España together

But first, the remainder of this year. The news has been made public that Jonas Vingegaard will ride in the Vuelta a España in August. He will share the team's leadership with his Slovenian teammate Primož Roglič, who won the Giro d'Italia in May. This puts Jumbo-Visma in a position to make history by winning all three Grand Tours in one year. Does Jonas want his daughter to remember him as a multiple Grand Tour winner? "Well, I mainly want her to see me as a good father. I want her to feel that I was there for her when she needed me."
