On the last Saturday of the Tour de France, riders battle it out in eastern France to wear the yellow jersey in Paris, but in the west, the Tour de France Femmes marks the start of a completely different race. Who are the favorites for the various classifications/jerseys? IDLProCycling.com outlines the possibilities. Yellow jersey favorites: general classification Tour de France Femmes 2025
Last year, only four seconds separated the winner,
Kasia Niewiadoma, and
Demi Vollering. The Polish rider from Canyon//SRAM is back again this year, as is the Dutch rider from FDJ-SUEZ, who won the Tour in 2023 on behalf of SD Worx-Protime. Vollering already won the Vuelta a España earlier this year and is therefore one of the absolute favorites for the Tour de France.
The only rider to beat the Dutch rider this year is
Marlen Reusser. The Swiss rider from Movistar did so in the Tour de Suisse, after which she continued in good form in the Giro d'Italia. There she came up against a slightly stronger
Elisa Longo Borghini, who will also be competing in the Tour. The Italian rider from UAE Team ADQ is therefore also one of the women to beat.
The Tour will provide an update on
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot's progress. The French rider from Visma | Lease a Bike withdrew from the Vuelta in May and has not been in action since.
With the four names already mentioned, all the top contenders appear to be present, while other notable names are also on the start list. How is
Lotte Kopecky doing, for example, after the Belgian withdrew from the Giro at the beginning of this month as a precaution? SD Worx-Protime also has
Anna van der Breggen at the start, the Dutch rider who is making her comeback this year.
FDJ-SUEZ can also play Juliette Labous as a wild card alongside Vollering. At the same time, Liv AlUla Jayco has two dangerous riders in the Dutch Silke Smulders and the Spanish Mavi García. AG Insurance-Soudal Quick-Step has added the riders Kimberly Le Court and Sarah Gigante to the mix.

Favorites green jersey: points standings Tour de France Femmes 2025
Just like in the men's Tour, there are many contenders for the points classification among the women. Of the nine stages, three offer the maximum points, namely stages 2, 3, and 4. Stages one, five, and seven offer a maximum of thirty points, while the mountain stages on days six, eight, and nine have twenty points up for grabs.
The intermediate sprints are worth 25 points each, so they could also prove crucial at the end of the week. Last year,
Marianne Vos (Visma | Lease a Bike) took an early lead in the points classification here, and that could well be the case again this year. However,
Lorena Wiebes, on behalf of SD Worx-Protime, could take a significant lead in the first few days if she scores 50 points several times.
Lotte Kopecky, Mischa Bredewold, Femke Gerritse, and Blanka Vas could also theoretically compete for that team, as could fast women such as Elisa Balsamo of Lidl-Trek, Ally Wollaston (FDJ-Suez), and Linda Zanetti of Uno-X. Chloé Dygert of Canyon//SRAM could also be in contention in many stages.
Last season, the women in the GC finished fairly close together, and that could also be the case with this year's opening weekend. So don't rule out flat riders such as Demi Vollering (FDJ-Suez), Liane Lippert, Marlen Reusser (Movistar),
Puck Pieterse (Fenix-Deceuninck), Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ), and Kasia Niewiadoma (Canyon//SRAM).

Favorites polka dot jersey: mountain classification Tour de France 2025
In this classification, it is always somewhat challenging to predict how the race will unfold. If one of the women in the classification unexpectedly drops out in the first few days, the dynamics can change completely. Last season, the mountain jersey went to attacker Justine Ghekiere of AG Insurance-Soudal Quick-Step, while in previous years Kasia Niewiadoma (Canyon//SRAM) and Demi Vollering (FDJ-Suez) took the classification.
They are also the numbers one and two in last year's final classification, so they are automatically contenders again. All the more so because the two climbs of the day, the Madeleine on day eight and Joux Plane on day nine, are quite favorable for the women chasing the yellow jersey this season.

In the Giro, we saw that Sarah Gigante climbed excellently, and the same can be said about her teammate at AG Insurance Soudal Quick-Step, Kimberly Le Court Pienaar. Other women who are contenders due to their role as favorites are Anna van der Breggen (SD Worx-Protime), Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (Visma | Lease a Bike), Liane Lippert, Marlen Reusser (Movistar), Puck Pieterse (Fenix-Deceuninck), and Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ).
Furthermore, women such as Cedrine Kerbaol (EF), Yara Kastelijn, Pauliena Rooijakkers (Fenix-Deceuninck), Mavi Garcia (Liv Jayco AlUla), and Niamh Fisher-Black (Lidl-Trek) may well make the gem their sole objective.

White jersey favorites: youth classification Tour de France Femmes 2025
Anyone who wants to compete in the young rider classification in the Tour de France Femmes must have been born on or after January 1, 2003. This ensures that there are not too many contenders for the white jersey on the start list, knowing that the limit for men was January 1, 2000.
Puck Pieterse, born in 2002 and last year's winner of the white jersey, will therefore no longer be competing for the jersey. The same applies to number two, Shirin van Anrooij, on behalf of Lidl-Trek. The third in line, Marion Bunel, is eligible to compete for this classification at the age of 20. The Frenchwoman now rides for Visma | Lease a Bike, where she supports Pauline Ferrand-Prévot.
In total, there are now only nine other women born in 2003 or later at the start, which makes it challenging to make a serious prediction. We know that Julie Bego (Cofidis), Imogen Wolff (Visma | Lease a Bike), and Titia Ryo (Arkéa - B*B) are among the favorites, but now the pressure is on.
