The Spaniard lived up to his status, though it was a very close call. Noval was 4 hundredths of a second faster than Risbjerg, who had to settle for silver. Vic De Smet, riding for Soudal Quick-Step, finished third.

More action to come from Slovenia

All individual time trials take place today [Wednesday] with the u23s already underway. Elite men and women will follow this afternoon, as Demi Vollering looks to complete her golden season against Marlen Reusser.
It is the last time Vollering will race in the 2026 season.

Evenepoel will not race in the mens race, as he looks towards Il Lombardia at the weekend. This could leave the men's race open to a surprise champion.
