Remco Evenepoel has revealed part of his 2026 calendar during Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe’s team presentation. The Belgian will not ride the Tour of Flanders next season, despite considerable anticipation in his home country. At the Tour de France he will share team leadership with Florian Lipowitz.
Evenepoel first met with his new team in October and is now on Mallorca for his first “real training camp” with the squad. The Belgian says he is relieved the transfer saga is finally behind him and is looking forward to 2026 with confidence.
He confirmed his expected season start when we asked him about it. “I want to begin with a time trial on Mallorca. Then I’ll go to the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, the Volta a Catalunya and then the Ardennes Classics. I won’t ride the Tour of Flanders, because I’ve had a busy year and I want to have a ‘normal season’. So De Ronde will have to wait a bit longer.”

Evenepoel sees advantages of co-leadership with Lipowitz

The main objective is the Tour de France, where Evenepoel will share leadership with Lipowitz. “I only found out yesterday that I’ll be riding the Tour, so it’s a bit early to say much more. I’ll need to get to know Florian better. We’re totally different types of riders, which can often be an advantage.”
Primoz Roglic will not ride the Tour. The Slovenian, in what could be his final season, is focusing on securing a fifth Vuelta a España victory. His build-up will include Tirreno-Adriatico and the Tour of the Basque Country. For the Giro d’Italia, the team will rely on Giulio Pellizzari, Aleksandr Vlasov and Jai Hindley.
