Following Kasper Asgreen (NSN) and Mikkel Honoré (Jayco AlUla), the third Dane on the EF Education-EasyPost team has also left the squad in 2026 . On Tuesday, Michael Valgren was announced as a new rider for Netcompany INEOS, which coincidentally has a Danish company, Netcompany, as its title sponsor. EF, for its part, announced the arrival of Ivan Ramiro Sosa.

Valgren overjoyed to join INEOS

Last year, Valgren won a stage at Tirreno-Adriatico and the Giro d'Italia for the team. The 34-year-old rider has signed a two-year contract with his new team. “Finally getting the chance to join Netcompany INEOS is a dream come true. It’s a team I’ve always wanted to be a part of, so in many ways, it feels like I’ve come full circle.”

"I'm really looking forward to joining such a special organisation, where every effort is made to deliver top performances. I believe that the environment and resources here can help me find that extra few percent to raise my level and continue to compete for victories," says Valgren.

Geraint Thomas spoke highly of the incoming Dane

The rider had been linked to the British team for several years. “I’m also really looking forward to working with Geraint Thomas, someone I’ve admired throughout my entire career. His dedication and work ethic have always been a source of inspiration to me, and I hope I can do my part to carry on the legacy he has built within the team.”
Thomas, in turn, has kind words for Valgren. “I’ve known Michael personally for a long time, and I’ve always had a lot of respect for him, both as a rider and as a person. He has a great personality, and I’m sure he’ll fit right in with the team.”

"He brings a wealth of experience to the table and has shown that he can still race at an incredibly high level, especially after everything he's been through since his crash," he says, referring to the Danish rider's serious crash a few years ago.

Ivan Ramiro Sosa returns to the WorldTour

EF Education-EasyPost has lost a few riders, including Richard Carapaz. However, on Wednesday, the team gained Colombian climber Ivan Ramiro Sosa, who previously rode for INEOS and Movistar. Last season, he rode for Equipo Kern Pharma, after undergoing femoral artery surgery in 2025.
"Ivan is well on his way to getting back into top form for the first time in a few years. He’ll be a huge asset to our team when we race in the mountains. He’s smart enough to get into a strong breakaway and then strong enough to make it to the final," says team manager Jonathan Vaughters.

Sosa was announced via the team's social media channels

"We've seen him do that twice in the Vuelta a España. And after recovering from surgery on his iliac arteries, he has shown just how motivated he is to race aggressively and fight for the win. That’s the kind of rider we’re looking for,” said the American.
