It is over: Jonas Vingegaard has won the Giro d’Italia 2026 and completed the trilogy of Grand Tours. The Dane of Visma | Lease a Bike stepped up shortly after the stage won by Jonathan Milan of Lidl-Trek for his final flash interview of this Giro.

Vingegaard was visibly struggling already at the first question. “It is amazing. This is something I have dreamed of my whole life. That it can now happen feels very special. This is a special day... and I honestly do not really know what to say,” said the Dane.
“It felt very special to ride through Rome in pink. There were so many people along the roadside, it was incredible,” the Visma | Lease a Bike team leader continued. “That I then have the honour of riding in pink... after three great weeks, that is a wonderful ending.”

When the interviewer asked a question about Vingegaard’s family being present in Rome, his voice began to crack completely.
“That only makes it even more beautiful. They are always there for me,” said the winner, who now joins the club of eight riders to have won all three Grand Tours. “It is amazing.”
