Feel for Marc Reef and the team—losing one of your key riders this close to the Tour hurts. But credit to them for not forcing it. Cycling history is full of riders rushing back and paying for it all season. Patience now could mean fireworks later in the year.

You could see the writing on the wall after Dauphiné withdrawal. If the wound needed another hospital clean and an overnight stay, that’s not just “manage the pain” territory. Health first. I’d love to see him target Worlds or the Vuelta once he’s 100%.

Gutted for Wout, but absolutely the right call. An elbow that keeps flaring up after race efforts is a recipe for disaster over three weeks of crashes, cobbles, and crosswinds. Better to heal fully and come back flying for the late-season goals. Get well soon, champ.

Love the respect between camps here. No trash talk, just realism about margins. For me, this Tour feels like tiny details will decide it: heat management, fueling on a couple of monster stages, and who handles the cumulative stress best. Can’t wait.

The Niermann departure is intriguing gossip-wise, but I agree it probably won’t shift the fundamentals. Visma showed at the Giro their systems still work. The bigger variable is how Jonas recovers from the Giro load and whether he has the same explosiveness in week three of the Tour.

Visma’s depth is scary. Jorgenson’s step up this year has been huge, and if Van Aert is anywhere near his best, they can tear stages apart even without Niermann. Matxin is right: you can’t assume they’re out of the picture just because they miss a move early.

“Tadej is the best in the world” is a big statement, but not exactly controversial right now. What impresses me is how confident UAE sounds about the whole squad, not just Pogacar. If Almeida, Yates, and Ayuso are firing, that support could be the difference.

Really interesting take from Matxin on the mental side of doing Giro + Tour. People focus so much on the race days, but the back-to-back altitude camps and time away from home can be brutal. Curious to see if Jonas can keep that razor edge after such a heavy spring.

- Really curious how he balances testing the legs with not showing too much before the Tour. UAE looks stacked, and if they go on the offensive from stage 1 it’ll tell us a lot. Even if it’s not the old nine-day Suisse with big mountains, his current form suggests he’ll try to bag at least one stage.

- Crazy to think the only race Pogi hasn’t won this year is Roubaix. If he’s already feeling good after a hard training camp, that punchy opener in Switzerland could be fireworks. Also interesting take on the five-day format—shorter, sharper, and perfect for a Tour readiness check.
