- Esto me deja confuso, pero interesado. If the law in France allows it, does the UCI code override? Qui a la priorité ici? Seems messy but maybe necesario for credibility.

- Riis calling it “grotesque” is rich given ’96, but he’s not wrong about communication being awful. UCI/WADA/AFLD need a joint press briefing with timelines, legal citations, and the reason night hours were breached.

- Can someone explain what qualifies as “special circumstances” for night testing? Is it tied to biological passport anomalies or just performance spikes on a stage?

- Mixed feelings. Yes, history demands rigor, but dragging riders out of bed mid-Grand Tour seems counterproductive to athlete welfare and performance integrity. Publish the legal basis from the Paris court or don’t do it.

- Strong piece. Night tests should be reserved for real red-flag intel, not blanket raids. If AFLD/ITA had “serious suspicion,” where’s the communiqué? Transparency is the only way to protect Pog and Vinge from trial-by-rumour.

- Buen artículo, pero quiero ver datos: ¿cuántos controles nocturnos hubo por equipo esta semana? Sin eso, es difícil juzgar si hubo trato desigual. Merci!

- Mohorič being this candid is rare. Also, small correction: it’s not “night testing is banned”—it’s allowed with those “serious suspicion” criteria. The question is whether that threshold was actually met.

- Vaughters has a point—cycling’s past means overcorrection now. But the protocols should be predictable: announce a consistent out-of-competition schedule window and rotate unannounced timing without hammering the same teams two nights running.

- As a casual viewer: are these tests blood, urine, or both? And how long do they take at the hotel room? If it’s an hour+ that’s a big interruption.

- Agree with Matej on “human limits.” Riders were finishing late due to long stages/transfers. A 5 a.m. control after midnight bedtime is basically cutting deep sleep cycles. Marginal gains don’t matter if the system chops your REM phase.
