🎥 Simmons proposes to girlfriend after last Tour de France stage: "I don’t think anything will ever top this"

“I finished the Tour in the best possible way. I don't think anything will ever top this,” said a delighted Simmons to Eurosport after the scene on the Champs-Elysées.

“I asked my girlfriend if she wanted to marry me and she said ‘yes’,” he laughed. “I mean, who could do that here with this view? She's always by my side. She comes with me to every training camp, she always eats those boring meals with me...”

"She's always there for me, even here in Paris. I was a bit distracted, thinking about this moment and the whole stage. The last lap of sixteen kilometers felt like it took forever."
