Tom Pidcock is enjoying his vacation after a long and tough road season, and the 26-year-old Brit didn't waste any time. On Thursday, Pidcock announced via his official channels that he had proposed to his girlfriend, Bethany, a week ago. And of course, she said yes. “October 16, the first day of the rest of our lives.” “I can't wait to marry my best friend,” Bethany Louise Zajac wrote on her
social media. The two have been together for years, with the popular
Nut Sisters regularly appearing with her at races. They live together in Andorra, where Pidcock can train excellently, of course. And it's not a bad setting for a wedding either...
As mentioned, Pidcock is enjoying his vacation with Bethany after a long season. That started at the end of January, after he had left his cyclo-cross bike untouched all winter. After his transfer from INEOS Grenadiers to Q36.5, he focused entirely on the road, and it paid off. Pidcock won two stages and the overall classification in the AlUla Tour on his season debut.

When will we see Tom Pidcock back on his bike?
After a stage win in the Ruta del Sol, Pidcock headed into the spring classics, with a second place in Strade Bianche proving his top form. He could even keep up with Tadej Pogacar for a long time, but as always, the Slovenian was too strong. After a sixth place in the Tirreno-Adriatico, Pidcock finished ninth in the Amstel, third in the Flèche Wallonne, and ninth in Liège.
Q36.5 then received a last-minute wildcard for the Giro d'Italia, where Pidcock fell short after a strong spring. He was still in contention for a few stage wins, but finished somewhat anonymously in sixteenth place in Rome. How different it was in the Vuelta a España, where he surprisingly finished third in the GC after winning a stage in the Arctic Race of Norway.
His big breakthrough as a stage racer.
After the Vuelta, he finished tenth in the World Championships, second in the Giro dell'Emilia, sixth in the Tour of Lombardy, and sixth (one day after Il Lombardia) in the World Gravel Championships in South Limburg. Whether we will see Pidcock on a cyclo-cross bike this winter remains to be seen. Q36.5 rode its way into the top three ProTeams of the year and has therefore been invited to all the major tours and WorldTour races in 2025.
