Tadej PogaÄar avoided a crash during the sixth stage of the Vuelta a EspaƱa. The Slovenian tackled the final descent without fear, but took a turn a bit too aggressively. By veering onto the shoulder, the Slovenian race leader avoided a major tragedy.

PogaÄar looked set to pull off another solo feat on the dayās final climb, but he didnāt realize that Mas was closing in from behind. The Spaniard from Movistar steadily closed the gap on Pogacar and passed him just past the summit.
Next, it was up to Pogacar to pass Masāwho doesnāt usually handle descents very wellāon the descent. The Movistar team leader then signaled to Pogacar to take it easy together, but his words fell on deaf ears.

Pogacar surged past Mas into the descent, but then missed one of the first gentle turns. The UAE Emirates-XRG rider veered toward the side of the road and barely managed to stay upright, allowing Mas to pass him again. After that, the red jersey wearer played it safe, because a crash is the last thing he wants.
