Follow us on GoogleJust one week after the World Championships in Montreal, we head straight to the 2026 European Cycling Championships in Slovenia. Before the Tour of Lombardy taking place in northern Italy on October 10, things kick off with the elite road races right away on October 3 and 4. Now that Tadej Pogacar appears to be hesitating about participating, it will be especially interesting to see who his potential European Championship challengers will be. Here is the (provisional) start list.

Remco Evenepoel is the out-and-out favourite, especially after his World Championship disappointment. However his team is certainly not as strong as it was in Montréal, and he is facing even more scrutiny from the press. How will the superstar handle the pressure?
