Official Tour de France selections are coming in at a rapid pace this Monday. Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale has also announced the eight riders who will travel to Le Grand Départ in Lille. It’s a selection built around team leader Felix Gall, that much is clear.
The French team had an absolute outstanding year last year, racking up no fewer than thirty victories. In 2025, their good form seems far from over, as the team has already claimed sixteen wins so far. Most of those were in France, but they also found success at Tirreno-Adriatico (with Andrea Vendrame) and in the Giro d’Italia (Nicolas Prodhomme).
Winning at the Tour would be the ultimate goal for the French squad. The last time they managed that was in 2023, when Gall won stage seventeen to Courchevel. The 27-year-old Austrian is back this year and will be the rider Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale counts on to make an impact in the general classification.

In the mountains, Gall will mainly be supported by Aurélien Paret-Peintre. The 29-year-old Frenchman is heading into his fourth Tour de France, where he already finished seventh on a stage in 2021. The team will also hope that Clément Berhet can provide strong support for their leader in the mountains.
For the time trials – especially the flat time trial in Caen – the team has two dangerous outsiders with Stefan Bissegger and Bruno Armirail. The Swiss rider narrowly missed out on the national time trial title recently (by just one second!), while his teammate did manage to claim the French time trial championship.
The experienced Oliver Naesen, Australian Callum Scotson, and newly crowned Tro-Bro Léon winner Bastien Tronchon complete Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale’s Tour selection. For the 23-year-old Frenchman Tronchon, as well as Scotson, it will be their Tour debut. Meanwhile, 34-year-old Naesen will be lining up for his tenth Tour de France.
