Decathlon CMA CGM has struck again in the transfer market. On Monday, the French team announced the arrival of Gregor Mühlberger. The 31-year-old Austrian is transferring from Movistar and is expected to give the team extra strength in the more challenging races.
Mühlberger turned professional with BORA in 2015 and made the switch to Spanish team Movistar in 2021, where he rode for five years. His list of achievements includes nine victories, the most notable of which is probably a stage win in the 2018 Renewi Tour. He also won the overall classification of the Sibiu Tour in 2020 and took stages in the Tour of the Alps and Tour of Germany.
At Decathlon, Mühlberger, who finished 18th in this year's Tour, will join his compatriot Felix Gall. “I'm extremely happy to be joining one of the best teams in the world. I believe in what this team is building and in its high level of professionalism on a daily basis, which motivates me even more to surpass myself.”
“I'm looking forward to proving that I'm a very good team member in the mountains, and to supporting our leaders in the overall rankings like Paul Seixas and my Austrian compatriot Felix Gall,” he says.

The climber is the team's ninth new signing. Previously, Olav Kooij, Daan Hoole, Cees Bol, Robbe Ghys, Tiesj Benoot, Tobias Lund Andresen, and Matthew Riccittello had already signed up for the coming season. “I'm honored to have the chance to join DECATHLON CMA CGM for the 2026 season, and look forward to meeting all the talented people who make up the team.”
Sports director Sebastian Joly is also pleased. “Gregor Mühlberger has spent several years with major teams and his recruitment for the 2026 season is a valuable reinforcement. He's a solid climber, capable of accompanying our leaders in the most demanding mountain stages. His presence should enable us to strengthen our collective in the mountains and give even more support to our leaders, particularly Felix Gall, in the major events.”
