Luca Guercilena will take on a key role at RCS Sport, the organization announced Wednesday in a
press release. RCS, which is responsible for organizing the
Giro d'Italia, is the Italian’s next assignment after he recently announced his
departure from Lidl-Trek.
"RCS Sport announces that Luca Guercilena will assume overall responsibility for the company's cycling division effective September 1," the statement reads. What will he be doing there? "He will be responsible for both organizing the races and managing all related logistical operations."
Paolo Bellino, CEO and Managing Director of RCS Sports, said: “The appointment of Luca Guercilena is a strategic step in strengthening our group’s cycling division. His expertise, combined with his in-depth knowledge of the international cycling landscape, will enable us to take another leap forward, both in terms of race organization and future development.'
