Vingegaard crashed during the final week of the Tour de France and broke his collarbone. The Giro d'Italia winner
announced in mid-August that he would not be racing again this season.
"After a long and intense racing season, I had already planned a recovery period following the Tour de France," he explained at the time. “Due to the broken collarbone, the start of my training period was delayed, making it impossible to return to top form in the near future. The focus is now on preparing as best as possible for the goals of 2027. I will be discussing these goals with the team in the coming weeks.”
Vingegaard is back on his bike,
as shown by footage of him taken in Mallorca in October. In addition to the Giro d'Italia, the Dane also won Paris-Nice and the Tour of Catalonia this year riding for Visma | Lease a Bike.
