IDL Pro Cycling brings cycling news, interviews, race coverage, analysis to an international audience. As the English-language sister site of Dutch cycling platform
In de Leiderstrui, our ambition is to continue building our audience across the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and other English-speaking markets.
What will you do?
As an intern, you will become part of the IDL editorial team and work alongside our editors on the day-to-day coverage of professional cycling.
Depending on your experience and interests, your work can include:
- Writing and publishing cycling news in English
- Creating your own original articles, features and stories;
- Supporting coverage of races, riders and teams
- Adapting relevant content from our Dutch platform for an English-speaking audience;
- Creating and developing content for social media
- Helping us identify stories and topics that appeal specifically to cycling fans in markets such as the UK, USA, Canada and Australia
- Contributing ideas to the IDL Pro Cycling editorial and content calendar, helping to increase our reach and engage a larger international audience
This is not an internship where you simply watch from the sidelines. We want you to become part of the editorial team, contribute ideas and gradually take ownership of your own work.

Who are we looking for?
You could be a good fit if:
- You have a strong interest in professional road cycling and follow the sport closely (gravel, cyclocross and mountain bike knowledge is a plus)
- You have excellent written English. Native or near-native English is strongly preferred
- You are studying journalism, communications, media or a related subject
- You are curious, proactive and comfortable suggesting your own ideas and taking ownership of a story
- You are interested in digital journalism and understand how people consume sports content online
- You are flexible when major races or cycling news require it, including weekends and evenings
- You are comfortable using the latest AI tools
- An interest in social media, video, SEO or other forms of digital content is a plus
What do we offer?
You will join a team that lives and breathes cycling every day and gain hands-on experience in an international sports media environment. You will learn how an online newsroom operates, develop your writing and editorial skills and have the opportunity to publish work under your own byline.
We offer a standard internship, with the exact duration and working arrangements depending on the requirements of your study programme. We are looking for someone who can start from September 2026 onwards.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who genuinely loves cycling and wants to develop as a sports journalist while helping us take IDL Pro Cycling to the next level.
