After her victory in the Tour de France Femmes, Demi Vollering has some time for fun activities, and she’s making the most of it. The Dutch cyclist was in Zandvoort on Thursday, where the Dutch Formula 1 Grand Prix will be held this weekend. There, Vollering met Red Bull driver Max Verstappen and presented him with a yellow jersey.

Vollering and her FDJ-Suez team have been sponsored by Red Bull since the start of the Tour de France Femmes . “It perfectly reflects our ambition: to continue making progress on the road by pushing boundaries and going beyond them,” the team said in its rousing announcement.
The cars on the Zandvoort racetrack were also roaring. Vollering was invited to get into the car along with a few fellow athletes (speed skater Kjeld Nuis and freerunner Noa Diorgina) and influencer Qucee, and she clearly had to get used to it for a moment. “I’m getting dizzy,” we hear Vollering sayin the video on Red Bull’s channels.

Another part of the event was meeting Verstappen, who received a signed yellow jersey from Vollering and was absolutely thrilled with it. “Max, I brought you a nice little jersey,” Vollering began, addressing the F1 driver.
"Well, look at that! I followed the whole thing," the Limburger told Vollering. "It was really close, but in the last two stages—and especially that last one—it was pretty clear. Absolutely fantastic," Verstappen said.

Global media celebrated Vollering’s Tour de France Femmes victory

It wasn't just Verstappen who was following the Tour de France Femes. Hailing her dominant season and comparing her impact to Tadej Pogacar, L’Équipe framed her win as a return to the throne after runner-up finishes in 2024 and 2025. Belgian outlets debated “Pogacar-like” dominance, noting her victories across Flanders, Liège, the Giro, and the Tour, with the world title still missing.

Italian and Spanish papers praised her triumphant, mentally strong performance; Swiss coverage highlighted her decisive takeover of the yellow jersey. In the UK, The Guardian called the final-stage attack her emphatic statement. And in the USA, The New York Times emphasised Vollering’s milestone as the first two-time winner of the modern race and her near-complete season capped by multiple stage wins and classics success.
