George Hincapie will own a UCI ProTeam from 2026. After months of groundwork, a license application has been filed and the project is officially going ahead under the name Modern Adventure Pro Cycling. The team has already unveiled 20 riders for its inaugural roster.
In June, it emerged that Hincapie and his brother Rich were putting a structure in place for a new team. Former pro Joey Rosskopf is set to take up a directeur sportif role, while Bobby Julich—third in the 1998 Tour de France—will also be involved.
Among the 20 riders announced are several familiar names. Riley Pickrell (joining from Israel–Premier Tech), Cole Kessler (moving up from the Lidl–Trek development squad), Tyler Stites (departing Caja Rural–Seguros RGA) and Mark Stewart (from Solution Tech–Vini Fantini) are all on board. Former pros Stefan de Bod and Robin Carpenter will also make the step back to the professional circuit.
Most of the riders have signed two-year contracts, which offers stability for the start-up. “George and I are focusing on the culture and family atmosphere first,” Rich Hincapie told Cyclingnews. "Results will come later. Since we have a minimum six-year commitment [for the team], we have time to build it right.”

Hayter as biggest name: 'He's a diamond in the rough'

Perhaps the most eye-catching name is Leo Hayter. The younger brother of Ethan was once among Britain’s top prospects, winning Liège–Bastogne–Liège U23 and the Giro Next Gen ahead of talents like Lennert Van Eetvelt and Lenny Martinez. After stepping away due to mental health issues, he returned to competition this autumn at the Chrono des Nations.
Hayter will relaunch his career at ProTeam level. The Hincapies plan to take a measured approach. “I think we are a good programme for him on his way back. There's no pressure; he can take his time finding that talent back. He’s a real diamond in the rough”
