Noa Isidore (Decathlon CMA CGM) won the Coppa Bernocchi in Italy on Monday. The speedy Frenchman was the fastest in a thinned-out peloton, ahead of second place Tommaso Dati (Team UKYO) and Marijn van der Berg (EF Education EasyPost) who finished third.

Third day of racing in Italy
For the third day in a row, there was racing in Italy this afternoon. On Saturday, Visma | Lease a Bike rider Davide Piganzoli won the Giro dell'Emilia, and on Sunday, Paul Lapeira (Decathlon CMA CGM) outpaced UAE world champion Brandon McNulty in the Coppa Agostoni.
On Monday, the rest day of the European Championships, it was time for the next race on the schedule: the Coppa Bernocchi. Sixteen WorldTour teams lined up at the start; only the Dutch teams Visma | Lease a Bike and Picnic PostNL were absent.
Who was there? Mads Pedersen cheerfully continued his tour of Europe after the Münsterland Giro on Saturday and the European Championships on Sunday. Filippo Ganna (Netcompany INEOS) and Michael Matthews (Jayco AlUla), silver medalists at the World Championships in Canada, were also there.

Breakaway of four riders led the way
In the 1.Pro race, a breakaway group of four riders formed, including Samuele Zoccarato (MBH), Samuel Fernandez (Caja Rural-Seguros), Sergio Samitier (Cofidis), and Ben Granger of Solution Tech-NIPPO. They built a lead of about four minutes over the peloton, which was controlled primarily by Netcompany INEOS. That said, the teamwork wasn’t always perfect, as you can see in the video below.

UAE Emirates-XRG Takes the Reins
With 54 kilometers to go, Tim Wellens launched an attack, after which his teammate Jhonatan Narváez took over.

He was joined by Neilson Powless (EF), Brieuc Rolland, Lorenzo Germani (Groupama-FDJ), and Florian Stork (Tudor). They were unable to break through to the front of the race in one go.
The peloton also had to give it their all, but in the end they managed to catch up with them. Just before the sprint preparations resumed, a nasty mash crash took place. Filippo Ganna (Netcompany-Ineos) was among those who hit the deck.
Isidore narrowly avoided coming down in the incident.
The race ended with a sprint despite the crash with Marijn van den Berg and Dorian Godon, among others, joining the fray. The Dutch rider fell just short of the win, which went to Decathlon’s French rider Noa Isidore.
