Uno-X Mobility has made a significant move for the future. The Norwegian team has signed Kristian Haugetun. The 16-year-old Norwegian will ride for the team from his native country, which means he will be leaving the training program of Visma | Lease a Bike. This will be a significant blow to the Dutch team, given the rider's talent.
The very young Haugetun rode for JEGG-SKIL-DJR last year, a team that is part of the Visma | Lease a Bike training program. There, he already achieved excellent results, often against older riders: he finished fifth in the Ain Bugey Valromey Tour. He won a stage and the mountain classification of the Giro della Lunigiana, one of the biggest junior races. As a result, he is known as one of the best climbers of his generation.
With his new team, he will join the Uno-X Dare Development Team, the continental youth branch of the team. But he already has big dreams, very big dreams. “The big dream is to win the Tour de France overall,” Haugetun said in Uno-X's press release. “As simple – and as difficult – as that. But you have to dare to dream.”
"I’m here because Uno-X Mobility has shown that they can develop Norwegian riders. It’s a mix of a safe and highly ambitious environment, which makes me believe I can reach my best potential. I feel like here you ride a bit for your country, and you share something with the Scandinavian values around the team. That means a lot to me, and I think it makes us more willing to work together and do that little extra for each other and for the team to succeed."

Uno-X is delighted with the arrival of Haugetun. They see the young climber as an absolute star for the future. “For Uno-X Mobility, Kristian represents what this project is all about: developing young Norwegian and Danish riders step by step, preparing them for the highest level of the sport.” The team had already signed four riders for the elite selection.
