- Qué etapa, madre mía! Pogi sin bidón y aún así remata a Mas. Grande Enric también. Vamos a ver mañana qué pasa con el calor.

- Not sure I buy the “didn’t hear Mas coming” line. Team radios said 40 seconds, fine, but there’s motos, fans, time gaps changing—feels a bit convenient to me. Still, win’s a win.

- Mas hanging with him on that climb was class. Movistar finally racing smart, using the descent knowledge to bridge. Respect to Enric—this could spice up the GC if he keeps that level.

- So wait, how do the water rules work? Why weren’t they allowed to take bottles in the last 20km? Is that a Vuelta-specific thing or UCI standard across all races?

- Pogi sprinting Mas after nearly binning it on the descent… savage. Even when he “shows weakness,” he still bags the stage and time. Red looks nailed on unless the heat really bites.

Wout taking the sting out of late attacks was massive. That’s leadership. Brennan calm as you like—chapeau, lads. Qué etapa, magnifique teamwork!

Not sure I buy the “clear-cut” call on a flat sprint. Other teams looked strong and Wout could easily have been the protected rider. Feels a bit like the article glosses over that debate.

Really enjoyed this piece. Wynants keeping a lid on the hype is smart. Brennan’s Kuurne win showed he can handle bad weather and positioning—Flanders talk isn’t crazy, just not for tomorrow.

Quick question: when they say “lead-out,” is that just the last teammate pulling before the finish, or is it a whole sequence of riders lining up? Still getting my head round how they time it so precisely.

That was a clinic from Visma | Lease a Bike. Van Aert and Laporte did the dirty work perfectly and Brennan finished it off like a seasoned sprinter. Textbook indeed.
