- Pogacar top-5 in points even without contesting sprints? That’s plausible given the stage mix, but a bit generous. If UAE lets breaks go, he won’t hoover up intermediates. I’d put him 5–8 range unless he actively hunts moves. Vamos a ver.

- Cofidis “all-in” for Coquard sounds optimistic… Le Coq hasn’t been converting even in smaller races. Nice lead-out or not, this parcours punishes a sprinter who can’t survive the hills. Feels like wishful thinking from the team PR.

- Meeus without Van Poppel is a big miss, but he’s shown he can freelance. If he’s on partial duty for Roglič, though, I can’t see him beating a fully-focused Pedersen over three weeks. Mads looks like the clear fave if he bags even two wins.

- If there are only two flat stages, why are teams still bringing multiple “pure” sprinters? Wouldn’t a punchy finisher who climbs a bit be better for the green jersey here?

- Love the breakdown of the points scales—big difference that the Vuelta didn’t copy the Tour’s 70-point flat-stage win. With only two true flat days (11 and, intermediate sprints at 20 points feel absolutely decisive. Green will be about consistency and break savvy, not just drag-strip speed.

- Massive respect for how he frames the pressure. You can see the culture shift: from chasing UCI points to executing for a leader who actually circles back with credit. That Romandie example says a lot about Pogacar and UAE’s environment—calm, ruthless, effective. Vamos Vuelta.

- So wait, he’s already done the Tour twice but never had a WorldTour win on the team until this year? How does that work—do riders not get “wins” if they’re helping a leader? Confusing bit for me.

- Interesting read, but the piece glosses over his actual role in Spain. Is he on bottle duty through the flats or earmarked for high-mountain pacing? Also, calling every UAE GT roster “Tour-level” feels a bit hyperbolic—stacked, yes, but the Vuelta is different terrain and rhythm.

- Love this move for Vermaerke. He was rock solid at DSM/Picnic PostNL, but UAE-XRG is the perfect environment to sharpen his climbing and positioning. If he nails his Vuelta domestique duties for Pogi, he’s on the fast track to a Tour roster spot next year.

- Qué tragedia. Muito respeito para a família. The investigator’s timeline helps, but still feels like a systemic safety failure on open-road races during descents.
