Tadej Pogacar and Urška Zigart have found solace in each other during a difficult September. The engaged cycling couple will sit out the rest of 2026 after both suffered serious crashes. Pogacar suffered a broken collarbone and a cervical vertebra in the Vuelta a España, while Zigart broke her jaw for the second time in a short period while racing in France.

After a period of rest, Pogacar has clearly gotten back on track. It all started Tuesday evening with a press release from MyWhoosh, which sponsors UAE Emirates-XRG—and thus Pogacar as well—as a virtual training program. “Tadej Pogacar Begins His Return on MyWhoosh,” read the headline. “It’s nice to be back on the bike,” Pogacar added.
"I'm taking it one step at a time right now and slowly building back up toward next season," said the Slovenian, who not only missed out on the overall victory in the Vuelta a España due to his crash but will also lose the rainbow jersey at the World Championships in Canada after winning two consecutive world titles. We’ll spare you the promotional copy from Pogačar and MyWhoosh.

UAE team manager Mauro Gianetti did add some interesting information about how the team plans to begin Pogačar’s rehabilitation. “The most important thing now is to get Tadej back on the bike in a controlled and gradual manner, without putting unnecessary pressure on the process. We have an experienced performance team, and every step is being carefully considered with an eye toward next year.”
Cycling fans can ride like Pogačar. Starting September 18 and running through the end of November, his coach will organise a weekly cycling session on the online platform MyWhoosh under the banner “Train with Tadej.” Each week will feature a short and a long session, so there’s something for everyone. Pogačar himself will also join in once for “Ride with Tadej,” during which he’ll answer questions.
