Modern Adventure Pro Cycling, George Hincapie's team, shared a relatively positive update about Ezra Caudell on social media. The young American suffered a serious crash at the Philadelphia Cycling Classic and spent a month in the hospital.

Caudell, 19, suffered a severe crash in the American cycling race along with Belgian rider Milan Menten, who later sought help to cope with the incident. He sustained serious injuries to his internal organs and brain and was kept in a coma for a long time.
After 11 days, his team reported that Caudell had woken up for the first time, but that his condition remained critical. Another 20 days later, a new update was released.

Statement from Modern Adventure regarding Ezra Caudell

"Ezra Caudell was officially discharged from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital late last week, 31 days after his traumatic accident during the Philadelphia Cycling Classic. He is now beginning an intensive phase of clinical rehabilitation at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, followed by planned outpatient rehabilitation in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.

Although there is still a long way to go, Ezra has already made tremendous progress—both literally and figuratively—in his recovery. Before his discharge, he was already walking through the hospital hallways, and his medical team expects that both his lung contusions and his broken bones will continue to heal without further intervention.
Equally encouraging is his neurological recovery. Ezra continues to make significant progress following his brain injury, showing daily improvements in his strength, cognition, communication, and independence.
His recovery will take time, but his progress over the past month has been remarkable, and the fact that he can now walk, interact with others, and begin his rehabilitation is a huge milestone. The drive, work ethic, resilience, and attitude that have taken him to the top of his sport will undoubtedly serve him well in the future.
"Ezra's family and the Modern Adventure Pro Cycling team have complete confidence in him and are immensely grateful for the ongoing support he has received."
