What does EPO do for performance?
EPO is a hormone that stimulates red blood cell production. It occurs naturally in the human body.
However, it is also injected synthetically, to stimulate abnormal, and excessive, red-blood cell production.
EPO increases oxygen-carrying capacity, because of an increase in haemoglobin, which in turn enhances endurance.
