Vingegaard hasn’t raced since his crash on Stage 15 of the Tour de France in 2026. After recovering, he has been preparing for another season with Visma | Lease a Bike. At least, that’s what we’re assuming for now, given that he has a contract through the end of 2028.
In fact, the Dane is specifically on the radar of Uno-X Mobility, a Norwegian team that focuses on Norwegian and Danish riders. According to team manager Thor Hushovd, Vingegaard is an attractive option.

Vingegaard makes a comeback after an unremarkable summer
And so, in 2027, we’ll likely see Vingegaard in the yellow and black of Visma | Lease a Bike. He's already been spotted wearing those colors in a training video from Denmark. In October, Vingegaard returned to the spotlight for the first time after a somewhat low-key summer.
While the peloton was racing full speed ahead, Vingegaard was recovering from a broken collarbone away from the spotlight. He was spotted in Mallorca after the summer, though, and according to his compatriot Brian Holm, he had “fire in his eyes.”
The fact that Vingegaard continued to live a relatively anonymous life even drew some criticism, from Rasmussen, of all people.
Since the route was presented in Paris, there have been questions around whether or not Vingegaard would be better tackling the 2027 Giro d'Italia instead.

In the video, we see Vingegaard riding along a Danish bike path, carefully weaving his way past a few hikers.
It’s a very different picture from that of Tadej Pogacar in Monaco. He recently faced a lot of criticism for cycling dangerously close to cars and buses on public roads.
Although it must be said that the cycling infrastructure in Monaco leaves a lot to be desired compared to Denmark.
