Other names join the squad, including young talent Alvarez
Among other signings such as Jordi Meeus, there is a young talent joining the German team in 2027. U23 double European Champion
Héctor Alvarez will join Lidl-Trek, at the age of just 19.
Head of performance Larrazabal explained what the teenager's role would be in an interview with
MARCA.
"A rider like Héctor is always going to have a great calendar where he can go on progressing."
"It'll be a mixture of races where he's simply learning and helping the riders with more experience, like Mads [Pedersen], like Pippo [Ganna], like Jonny [Milan], and other races in which he'll have a chance to race for himself."

Giulio Ciccone has left the star-studded squad
Larrazabal is not afraid of handling the personalities; "It's a situation we've been working towards for many years, when we've been growing little by little, and we shouldn't back away now," he said.
He was clear on how the team would handle the 'luxury problem' of so many big names.
"It's clear that when it comes to handling egos, you need direct and clear communication. We're going to have to take decisions that sometimes won't make everybody happy - but we welcome that."
Big goals ahead for Lidl-Trek
The Spaniard was also not beatig around the bush when it came to the team's goals heading into the 2027 season with a star-studded squad.
"Victories, a Monument, a Grand Tour. Victories."
It seems simple enough on paper, and
Mads Pedersen has already spoken out to say that his upcoming partnership with Ganna should mean a dominant spring classics season for the German team.
It remains to be seen if the personalities at Lidl-TRek will gel well together, and deliver the heady goals for the team.
